Geography

At Greenland, we want to develop our pupils’ curiosity and interest about our diverse world and the people who live in it through four main areas: human and physical geography, place knowledge, location knowledge and geography skills and fieldwork, as set out in the National Curriculum.

Pupils will develop a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes and as they progress through school, their knowledge about the world will grow. The world in which we live is constantly changing and as geographers at Greenland, pupils will be given the chance to learn about how these changes affect us now and in the future. Pupils will also be provided with opportunities to develop their investigative and problem-solving skills, both inside and outside of the classroom, through hands-on geographical study. This enables them to forge a deep and meaningful understanding of geography in the context of our local area, as well as the wider world.
