LAMP Inclusion Base - LAMP 1

Welcome to the LAMP Inclusion Base page - LAMP 1
LAMP1 is an EYFS/KS1 dedicated SEN base offering adaptive teaching and additional SEN support to children in a nurturing continuous play-based provision with an adjoining sensory room. It is based within a medium, 2 form entry mainstream school and has access to its own porch, toilets and small dedicated yard (adjoining EYFS and KS1).

Who attends?

Children from the locality with a range of needs, including speech, language and communication, social interaction, Autism/ADHD, sensory differences, emotional difficulties and learning difficulties. The base is for children who require an alternative environment, adapted provision and personalised approaches to develop their ability to learn, interact with peers and thrive. All four areas of need are considered and dependant upon cohort. Children are allocated a place through the Local Authority EHCP consultation process and provision suitability.

The daily structure

Children all have personalised rotational timetables so that their day is structured around an energy accounting system based on an adult led task, a sensory task, intensive interaction then a restorative task. There are sensory based and calming activities to begin the day and opportunities for shared talking and listening over breakfast. Children’s self-belief and emotional state is paramount to learning and we always ensure children are ready to learn before a learning demand is placed on them. Short adult led tasks are followed by opportunities for movement or to regulate. Mornings are structured so that lessons and breaks take place with the rest of school and children have the opportunity to integrate with peers. Partner and group work is encouraged where possible.
